So you thought this was a delightful picture of a beautiful little girl putting in place her fantasy of being a princess????
Think again!!! It may come as a surprise to you, but it came as an absolute breath of fresh air to see this kind of change in society.
Believe it or not, this is a young boy. The background is part of a place which is a safe haven for parents and their boys who are gender nonconforming.
Although our modern times have allowed many to come to terms, accept and respect this behaviour, many are still struggling with the remains of a patriarcal, chauvinist mentality.
In the middle of this battle of perspectives are the children, adolescents and adults who bear the weight of discoverying themselves and fitting into a society where not everyone can comprehend such behaviour.
Acknowledging the little boys who are deaply affected by this struggle, this camp came to life.
It is a safe place for free expression. It is a place of fantasy and dreams come true, for one to be himself, for parents to converse without reprehension and share their experiences.
To us, it is a much needed neutral territory and an initiative do be applauded.
